Round Safety Pool Cover Measurement Form. Printable Pool Cover Drawing. Round Pool Cover Installation Instructions. Pool Cover with 16 Anchor Straps. 8 Anchor Plates with Slip Locks. Pool Cover Storage Bag. Ratchet-Lock safety pool covers are constructed of a solid 13oz vinyl laminated polyester fabric. It will block out UV rays to prevent algae growth and is the strongest, most durable fabric available for pool covers. The biggest advantage to this fabric is it can be assembled by a machine that uses heat to permanently fuse panels of fabric together. As you can see in the image to the left, these heat sealed seams have a clean finished look and virtually eliminate the most common failure point of safety pool covers. The center drain allows water to flow off the cover into the pool for a maintenance free winter. It is 6 wide and will span from the first to the last webbing support strap. As you can see in the image, it is also attached using heat sealed seams allowing the entire tarp to be assembled before any sewing is done. The drain is covered by a 10 wide solid center drain cover panel that prevents UV rays from entering through the mesh drain. This design allows the use of a vinyl coated mesh fabric that sheds water at a substantially higher rate than other brands of solid covers. Ratchet-Lock safety pool covers include a grid of 2 wide reinforcement webbing similar to a seat belt. It is installed on the underside of the cover to better support any weight applied to the top of the fabric. This webbing is attached using a 207 bonded polyester thread that is 47% stronger than the threads found on most other brands. In addition, these threads are sewn using a double lock stitch that will prevent unraveling should a thread split. The biggest advantage to 2 webbing is attachment options other than springs. The image to the left shows the anchor plates that are used to secure two sides of a Ratchet-Lock pool cover. These mount virtually flush to the deck so we recommend they be used on the sides of the pool which receive the most traffic. Ratchet-Lock safety pool covers get their name from their innovative tensioning system. Directly across the pool from each anchor plate will be a ratchet. This one ratchet will adjust the tension for both anchor points simultaneously. It provides infinite adjustment possibilities and the entire pools tension can be reset with only a few clicks. Double Expansion Concrete Anchors. The double expansion anchors included with a Ratchet-Lock kit are 1/2 round and require 33% less drilling than other brands. As the bolt is tightened it widens to fill the hole securely attaching the hardware to the pool deck. They are made of rust proof die-cast zinc known as Zamak and will be mounted flush with the deck as shown in the image to the left. Despite their smaller size these have actually been tested to withstand substantially higher load ratings than the larger brass drop in anchors. Ratchet-Lock covers include a design feature that will help prevent damage in the event of an overload. Each of the bold black lines shown on the covers schematic represents two anchors points. Multiply the number of lines shown on the drawing by 600 pounds to learn the covers approximate load limit. In the event of an overload, the slip lock securing these straps to the anchor plates will release. When released, two sides of the cover will be allowed to safely fall into the pool without damaging the cover, deck, or pool. Lookout Mountain Tarp guarantees the workmanship on every tarp we make for the life of the tarp. That statement means that defects in workmanship will be repaired or replaced for as long as the tarps materials remain useable. If properly cared for, a safety pool cover will keep a pool safe for 8 to 12 winters. It may be possible to continue using our product well beyond this time frame but in our experience a cover beyond 10 years of age is no longer as safe as it once was. Older covers should be inspected each spring and replaced if the fabric has become brittle or the threads have rotted. All of our tarps are. Cullman, AL to be exact.
